Soyasaponin Bh, a triterpene saponin containing a unique hemiacetal-functional five-membered ring from Glycine max (soybeans).

چکیده
Soybeans (Glycine max L. Merill) and soy-based food products are major dietary sources of saponins. An oleanane triterpenoid saponin, soyasaponin Bh (1) containing a unique five-membered ring with a hemiacetal functionality together with seven known saponins were isolated from soybeans. Their structures were determined by chemical and spectroscopic analyses including HR-ESI-MS, 1D- and 2D-NMR. None of the isolated saponins showed any anti-cell proliferative activity in tumor cell lines. Soysaponin I showed a weak estrogenic effect in the yeast estrogen screen (YES) assay.

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is a species of legume native to East Asia, widely grown for its edible bean which has numerous uses. It has been used as a source of human food of high quality protein and other nutrients for hundreds of years. Recently, soyasaponin, one of the significant bioactive constituents from soybeans, has received more attention to be used in skin care cosmetic products due to...
متن کاملChemical and biological characterization of oleanane triterpenoids from soy.
Soyasaponins are a group of complex and structural diverse oleanane triterpenoids found in soy (Glycine max) and other legumes. They are primarily classified into two main groups - group A and B - based on the attachment of sugar moieties at positions C-3 and C-22 of the ring structures. Group A soyasaponins are bidesmosidic, while group B soyasaponins are monodesmosidic. Group B soyasaponins a...
متن کاملSoyasaponin I Improved Neuroprotection and Regeneration in Memory Deficient Model Rats
Soy (Glycine Max Merr, family Leguminosae) has been reported to possess anti-cancer, anti-lipidemic, estrogen-like, and memory-enhancing effects. We investigated the memory-enhancing effects and the underlying mechanisms of soyasaponin I (soya-I), a major constituent of soy. Impaired learning and memory were induced by injecting ibotenic acid into the entorhinal cortex of adult rat brains. The ...
متن کاملNeuroprotective Effects of Triterpene Glycosides from Glycine max against Glutamate Induced Toxicity in Primary Cultured Rat Cortical Cells
To examine the neuroprotective effects of Glycine max, we tested its protection against the glutamate-induced toxicity in primary cortical cultured neurons. In order to clarify the neuroprotective mechanism(s) of this observed effect, isolation was performed to seek and identify active fractions and components. From such fractionation, two triterpene glycosides, 3-O-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl(1-2)-β-...

Background and Objectives: Transition metal complexes possess a variety of biological and pharmacological activities, such as antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and free radical scavenging. Many studies have been carried out on platinum-based chemotherapy agents, however, most attention has been paid to non-platinum metal-based agents in order to find different metal comp...
